Q. What are the costs?
A. See “Fees” tab at top of home page.
Q. Where do we train and play games?
A. Manta home fields are located in Strongsville for outdoor and North Royalton for indoor. With a home indoor facility just minutes from I71 and Rt. 82, Manta’s club home is very convenient for players from Cuyahoga, Summit, Medina and Lorain Counties. Game locations will depend upon the specific league for each team. Tournament locations will also vary from season to season.
Q. What is the Junior Academy
A. The Manta Junior Academy is focused on kids ages 5-8, designed to teach basic soccer skills using creative games that will be challenging but age appropriate, and will emphasize FUN. All training sessions will aim to build self confidence in order to help develop a child’s motor, social and overall developmental skills. Ultimately the goal is to create a fun experience that will lay a foundation for success in sports, education and life.
Q. How does the Junior Academy differ from playing rec or travel?
A. Our Junior Academy players are trained by professional and licensed coaches with many years of coaching experience. Our program is set up to focus on players that seek a more structured, competitive, skills based individual development environment – while not forgetting that the main focus is on fun. Players in this age group that desire a higher level and game competition can get the opportunity to do so, but this group’s main focus will be training. The Manta Junior Academy also starts players on the pathway towards joining one of the older competitive level Manta teams as the child grows.
Q. What comes with a uniform purchase?
A. For all competitive teams, the required uniform package includes a full black kit, a full white kit, a pink championship jersey, a practice top and a warm up top. Recommended but not required items include warm up pants, backpack and spirit wear. Junior Academy teams will only require a practice kit.
Q. Do we play in tournaments?
A. Other than the Junior Academy teams – yes. The fall season will typically include a club wide tournament over labor day weekend and one local tournament. Some teams may elect to close out the fall season with an early November tournament. Spring season will include a club wide tournament in April and conclude with State cup. Some teams may elect to start the season with a tournament in March.
Q. Do you offer any outside training?
A. Yes. We offer Small Group Training, Speed & Agility Training, and Strength & Conditioning Training. By appointment only. Please contact Andrea at firstname.lastname@example.org.
